2nd Shooter (Becky and Jack's Wedding)

With in the trade as Wedding Photographers, we sometimes get asked by
our fellow "togs" for assistance,
This means we become the 2nd Shooter.
The job for a 2nd shooter is to follow the Groom, to show his side of the day.

Its a very different way to shoot a wedding, as we haven't got the makeup artists or hair dressers etc to take the action from.
The day starts at their home or hotel room, with the Bestman helping the Groom to get ready and make sure they have everything.

I was honoured to be asked by Adam from APV Services to be his 2nd Shooter for the wedding of Becky and Jack.
These are just a selection of the portraits I took on this special day.

ECO BOOTH

ECO-BOOTH

Photo Booths are fun, we've all had fun with them at parties and events such as Weddings etc.
So,...what's the Eco-Booth you may ask.?

An Eco-Booth is the same as a normal photo booth but without the ink and paper of the prints. We all love seeing them, but what do we do with them after the event?
Normally in a draw or a shelf collecting dust?!

This is where the Eco-Booth is a winner.
Instead of inviting your guests to have a print made, there will be a private FREE online gallery of all your guests portraits for you, family and friends to download copies of their portraits, and use as they so wish.
This saves ink, paper and any landfill that happens when I discard the used ink ribbons with-in the normal way.

This is NOT to take anything away from the Photo-booths we all love.
Just a different approach.

The cost includes setting up time, the event and the FREE online gallery.
Also included is a USB of the portraits for the Bride and Groom.

Zoe and Charlie looked amazing in their wedding attire, with help from her Mum and Debbie from APV Services, Zoe's
Bridal dress looked beautiful...
St Blasius Church is normally a great spot for photo's, but due to the pond being drained it wasn't looking hopeful.
But then cam a rescue and the use of a private garden near by, which we were most definitely tankful for.
These are just some of the portraits I took on the day...and such a good day it was.

When asked to do the pre-wedding shoot, we had
plans to use Yaverland, but then thought just
how busy it would be there,..so Sandown Pier was ideal.

The beach was quite breezy, so we all went under the Pier, just to
find out it was a wind tunnel..haha

However,..we all had a great time doing this shoot, and I cant
wait to do their wedding portraits xx

As normal recently, Covid almost stopped plans

Evening Pop Up Studio Portraits.

When its my Popup Studio.!

This can be used for family portraits, with friends, or for the evening guests who were not there for the formal portraits.

I can set up a Popup studio for that full on Professional Studio experience....Lights, Backdrop and instant printing.
Portraits are taken in the evening, as a reminder of your wonderful day, and a lovely keepsake for your guests to collect.

They can also be shared online.
Small family groups, or a group of mates.

You are more than welcome to bring your own fancy dress,
but if you wish, I can supply some for all to use.

If you think this would add something special for your
reception, and NOT be the usual Photo-Booth, I would be honoured to be your evening photographer.

We had a blast on both days.
Karen and David are always laughing.

The pre-wedding was slightly interrupted by the rain, but Newchurch Church
grounds were a picture to use.
The wedding day was only a few days later, and thankfully the weather
allowed us to travel to Carisbrooke Castle for some portraits
of the couple...then it was beach time..

Amanda and Phil

The weather was a bit touch and go on the day, but we got lucky.
Amanda and Philip were thinking of cancelling their wedding day due
to the pandemic, but decided to go ahead, even if it meant less people
being allowed to be there.

The day went well, with the Sun coming out just when we needed it.
These are just a few of the portraits taken on the day.

Due to the pandemic, I am not allowed into the room to take portraits.
Because of this I gave one of my camera's to a guest ( Father of the Bride )
to take what he could, but following the rules.

After the service, normal work resumed.

After portraits were taken at the Reg Office area, we decided
to take a trip up to Carisbrooke Castle.
It was such a lovely day, we all had a great laugh.
Thank you Amanda and Philip for asking me to be involved.
I know it wasn't what was originally planned, but we had a blast doing it.

Tamasine and Luke Blog

At the end of December 2020, C19 couldn't
stop Luke and Tamasine from getting married.
The weather played nice with some lovely blue skies, and

being the biggest character ...

It was sad that not as many guests
could have been there, but it was still a

The weather was damp, but this didn't stop the couple from

But with a happy heart the went through the day as they wanted.

All was going well, until Boris changed the allowed amount

Quick phone calls were made, Facebook Private

Wedding to be set with in 4 days.
Thankfully Lakeside Spar Hotel was free..
This was such a wonderful day, you would have thought
it was meant to be....

Kim and Jack wedding blog

Kim & Jack had chosen to change their date to 2022 due to C19, but
plans were bought forwards and now having an even bigger party next year.
This wedding was with in the 30 people allowed
and all C19 checks applied.
However, this did not stop everyone having a great time.
The Kim and Jack were officially married the day before.
This day was their celebration with family and friends.
It was such a great day, I was honoured to be their photographer.

Charlie and Family Shoot

The weather was perfect and thankfully the

Jennifer and Adrian's Lock-down wedding

I had the pleasure of being asked to shoot
this wedding BEFORE the lockdown happened.
Thankfully their guests are also part of their bubble.
Jennifer looked stunning in a classical looking straight dress.
Adrian was the perfect Gentleman in his suit.

Only the Bridal couple and two witnesses allowed in the building
for the service.
The images taken inside were done on a phone, but
passed onto me for editing.

The usual Bridal chat prior to the service, has to be
done outside via the phone.

As I was not allowed inside, these are all taken on a phone
by one of the guests. After the shoot, the bridal party went to
a pre-booked table at The Bargemans Rest.

Covid 19 Wedding Prices.

Due to Covid 19, there are restrictions on weddings, so I have come up
with two "Covid 19 Wedding Prices"*

Sadly, the with Reg office, I am not allowed inside
to take any portraits of the Service.
This is why I have produced two prices.

Covid 19 Registrar Office Service: £100 *NO SERVICE PHOTOGRAPHY*
1. Meeting up at the Reg' Office

3. Portraits of the wedding Party after the service as above
4 Licensed USB containing all edited Portraits

Rosie and Ollie "Wedding" shoot

as I was due to shoot their big day, but sadly due to C19
it had to be cancelled.

I was ask by the couple to shoot these portraits on the original day, just so they
had some great memories.
It was my honour and pleasure to do so.
Sadly, I am already booked for their rescheduled date, but they
have it all sorted now.

Corona Virus Restrictions Updates

Its been strange times we live in.
The updates have been released.
Its not great news so far, but its heading in the right direction.

Please see the list below for the most up to date restrictions.

New rules for England

Under the new guidance for England released on Monday, small wedding and civil partnership ceremonies are allowed to go ahead only when they can be done safely and follow social distancing guidelines.

The advice says:

The maximum number of 30 people includes everybody at the ceremony - including the couple, witnesses, officiants, guests and suppliers such as photographers and caterers.
Ceremonies should be kept "as short as reasonably possible" and limited as much as possible to just the parts that are legally binding
Everyone should follow the 2m rule if possible, or 1m with extra safety measures, which will make group portraits difficult. And will likely rule out the tradition of a father walking his daughter down the aisle, unless they live in the same household.
No food and drink should be consumed as part of the event
Hands should be washed before and after the exchanging of rings, and the rings should be handled by as few people as possible
Singing, shouting or playing music at a volume that means people have to raise their voice should all be avoided. Instead of singing, recordings are suggested
Speaking during the ceremony - for example saying the responses to the vows - should not be in a raised voice
Playing instruments that are blown into should be avoided
When singing or chanting is required, only one person is allowed to and the couple or venue should consider installing a clear screen
Venues frequently used for weddings should mark the floor with tape or paint to help people maintain social distance.

The government advice also suggests changing traditional wedding layouts to avoid face-to-face seating, improving ventilation or using face masks.

Anniversary Portrait Shoot.

Wedding Album's

DK Photography is always happy to design our
clients wedding albums for them.
I ask my clients to choose their favourite images,
and then I help by designing the spreads.
These are the proofed to my client via a special website where
changes can be asked for by my couples.
Once all this is done, its then sent to print.

Large 12x12 "Glass" fronted Albums and matching presentation box.

within the images inside.

Parent Albums

One of the Packages I offer also includes
Parent Albums.
I enjoy letting the parents choose the option of choosing
their own instead of being a carbon copy of the
Bridal couples album.

This takes longer to complete than the usual 3 set Album,
but I think it suits more people, as this makes it all
the more personal, with great memories.

Coronavirus: Evening Pop Up Studio Portraits

Because of recent events with the dreaded virus, I have come to the idea of not using ANY Props within this service for a while.
With this in mind, I would like to still offer my services for couples, but as my full on Pop Up Studio, and not a booth.
This can be used for family portraits and friends, especially the evening guests who were not there for the formal portraits.

I can set up a professional studio for family and friends to have that
full Professional Studio experience.
Portraits are taken in the evening, as a reminder of your wonderful day, and a lovely keepsake for your guests to keep.

These can be shared online, or printed as 6x4 prints on the night.
With a little forward planning, they can even be presented in a strut mount to add to the quality and memory.

Small family groups, or a group of mates.

If you think this would add something special for your
reception, I would be honoured to be your evening photographer.

We were all blessed by the weather.
The sky was as blue as it could be, with little wind and beautiful Sunshine.
Jodee was surprisingly relaxed, chilling out whilst getting ready.

The whole event was magical from the start.
Jen looked stunning, there's no other words,..
Tracie and the lads looked like Country Gent's in tweed.

WOW!!
I have only just my breath back from working this years festival.
With doing this, and 3 weddings in a matter of two weeks, its been crazy.

Well, what can I say, firstly a big thank you to Kashmir Cafe IOW,
a great charity based tent at the festival, for asking me to be part of the team.
Being my first Isle of Wight Festival as an event photographer, even though I have
worked at Bestival and Rhythmtree Festival for a few years, I did not know what to
expect, as its a different vibe to the others, especially whilst working it instead of being a punter.

I had a blast!!
These are just some of the 1000 images I took....yeah you read right 1000 !!!

As from 25th May 2018 DK Photography would like to address any concerns that my clients may have about their on line privacy.

DK Photography would like to assure all of my clients that all the information gathered during a normal working relationship is never passed on to a 3rd party.
The information is always secured either on this website or my email address site.
The online information is duly deleted once the contract has been completed, and any paperwork is deleted once it has been used for tax and book keeping purposes.

Online Emails confirming payments etc

Most of the above information will be deleted when our contacts have been finalised.
Online and paper information concerning payments & receipts will be kept for book keeping and Tax purposes only.

Information Collected With Photography.

Images of my clients
Images of their guests, including children
Place of venue
Meta data with-in a digital image including the date and time of capture

Online galleries can be made PRIVATE and then only be accessed via the
unique password that only me and my clients have.
Its then my clients freedom to share this password to anyone they wish, but as the photographer, I will never share details with anyone other than the couple who have employed me.
Please let me know if you wish this for your online album.

My Blogs use portraits from the weddings and portraits I shoot with the strict permission
from my clients.
My PR galleries are full of images that I have been given permission to use by my clients.
However, please review these galleries and if you wish me to remove your portrait/image, please get in touch, and I will duly do so.

Rhythm Tree Festival holds a special place in my heart.
its such a relaxed, family friendly festival that introduces
you to music you never new existed.

The Castle does happen to be one of my favourite places to shootas well,
especially pre-weddings, as its close to the 8 Bells pub.

And a cold pint of Pepsi was well needed on such a hot day.....hahaha
